I saw a note the other day saying that we authors are required to lose or shed some of that softness, in order to publish and promote our work. Because with that, come inherent negativity at times. This is something we've both talked about before too. The thing is, I want to stay soft. I never want to harden towards myself or others. I guess it's just a tightrope that we must constantly balance... Have a great day H! Happy Writing!🤠🤙

Hi MJ,

Thank you for reading and expressing your thoughts.

I used to look at softness as weakness. I don't look at it like that anymore. It's not to promote unhealthy lifestyles, but to interpret softness differently than before.

I never really cared for what the trend was, be it fashion or lifestyle choices, designs, diets, etc. I did what I felt was good for me at the time. I did what my common sense told me to do or followed my own instincts. As it comes to writing, I don't follow rules here either. Not even as much as in my 'real' life. And trends are only the fabrications of wannabe smartypants, often succeeding only because of people who give them authority. True style is timeless.

Softness is part of who we are. If we lose it or shed any of it, because we follow others' advice, we lose some of ourselves. And who are those who think they can dictate who we should be? They have no jurisdiction over our lives, only we have the right to make that decision for ourselves.

As of writers, it might cost subscribers, it might cost followers, but wasn't that you who said not too long ago that if someone unsubscribes from you because of your humanity, then they clearly haven't read anything that you've written?

Don't compromise your qualities for anyone, be who you want to be and that, I believe, is going to reward you with feeling good in your own skin, being truly yourself and happy.

You have a lovely day, too! :)

H.

I do like softness - the softest of touches can move the hardest of all. xxx
